My first attempt at wood turning was nearly 50 years ago by turning a bowl in high school shop back in Maine. About 9 years ago I met a turner from the Cumberland Woodturners Club and concluded it was time to get my own lath and start turning.  It has been fascinating to see the different demos and then give it a try at home. Pens, Christmas ornaments, bowls, hollow vessels, platters or other goodies are always in demand as my wife and daughters can give it away about as fast as I can make them.
